feeling good...
last night, coming back home from a long brunch, i found an old man lying on the ground in front of a house on my street. i asked him if he was ok, and he said yes, but he seemed drunk and not very strong. i saw i had to help him, he fell down evidently from drinking too much and the slippery sidewalk, and he couldn't get up in the 20 minutes i was there with him. i tried to help him get up, but he had no strenght in his old legs, and i thought maybe he broke an arm, or something, i asked him if he broke something, he said no, i'm ok, i just want to go home. so i looked everywhere, no one close, so i rang at the first house in front of him, but the old couple had "their door broken", so they didn't open nor help me, so i went next door and a cute guy opened. his girlfriend, and their 3 friends invited for dinner came to help me and see that the old man was ok, and they called the ambulance. we stayed outside for ten minutes waiting, asking the man if he was cold and talking a little, he said he was tired of listening to the stuff we were talking about, we were reassured the man wasn't sleeping on the ice and snow, he had taken his winter coat off, and he said things like i'm tired, i want to go home...
the ambulance finally arrived and they took care of the man, saw that they couldn't take him home, he wasn't in a very good shape, but they took him to the hospital, i guess to see if he hadn't broken a bone, or got too cold on the ground... i felt pretty good going home and realizing no one passed on the street in all that time... imagine if i took the bus before and missed him on the ground. maybe i saved his life...
